WELCOME TO BLACKMORE END VILLAGE HALL AND PLAYING FIELD

BLACKMORE END VILLAGE HALL

Built in January 1926 by Samuel Courtauld as a social club for local residents, Blackmore End Village Hall is located in the picturesque village of Blackmore End, just a short drive from Braintree and Halstead.

Recently refurbished, the hall now serves as the heart of the community, hosting regular pub nights, quiz evenings and a wide range of village events.

The hall is available to hire at affordable rates for local residents wishing to host children’s parties, celebrations, community events, or hobby and exercise classes. Facilities include a small kitchen, modern toilet amenities, disabled access, and on-site parking.

BLACKMORE END PLAYING FIELD

Backing onto the hall is the large village playing field and children’s play area, managed by the Blackmore End Playing Field Committee in close partnership with the village hall committee. The committee is a registered charity that funds the upkeep of the field, buildings, and equipment through community events — including the annual fireworks event — and by hiring the field to local groups and organisations.
